I may not be able to play an instrument, but music has been playing in the background somewhere. Growing up in Southern California I have subjected to many different radio stations over the years. KMET, KLOS, KLSX, KRTH, KLAC and KROQ, just to name a few. RIP KNAC and PIRATE. Anyhoo, my musical developement really was born in the driveway and yard of a house on Concord Lane in Glendora many moons ago.

It seemed that Sunday or Labor Day weekend or Fourth of July were the days that car washing, waxing, rebuilding or yard work was done in the Crawford home. That meant that the radio was on and it was music or Dodger Baseball. Vin Scully has always been a favorite, even if I hate the Dodgers. On Labor Day, memorial Day and Fourth of July there was always a countdown of the best songs in Rock n Roll. Depending on the channel, most of the Top 5 were pretty consistent. You always had "Satisfaction", "Hey Jude", "Light My Fire" or "Stairway to Heaven" be the #1.

This really shaped my musical tastes. As an 11 year old, my favorite albums were "Born in the USA", "Eliminator" and "Tattoo You". I then fell in with the nasty hair metal craze. I finally realized the genius of the Ramones and Social Distortion in my adult years. I see that the origin of Rock n Roll were not wasted on these bands. The implementation of the core in their music has really caught me in their web.

Why is this important? My soon to be four year old son, Jackson, has found these two bands to be right up his alley. He has had an affinity for the Ramones since he was about 14 months old. "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Beat on the Brat" have his favorites since the beginning. We were watching Social Distortion on a show on DIRECTV from Guitar Center in LA. It is a combo live performance/interview show. He was reluctant at first, of course cartoons were more important. When that first chord came from Mike Ness, Jack was hooked. He really got into "California (Hustle and Flow)". A great tune that reeks of the Stones. Jack was singing it tonight at dinner and I was a proud pops. Now, if I can only get to him to like baseball and football.......

Pop Culture Screws Itself........Again!

On August 1, 1981, the world of pop culture was changed forever. Music Television, MTV, was born. The Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star" brought a new medium, the music video front and center into our living rooms. MTV was for the few privileged folk that had cable TV, still in it's infancy. MTV raised the number of households that ultimately installed cable boxes, nationwide.

We now could see the songs in a whole new light. Whether it was seeing the Goonies through Cindy Lauper's lip syncing or Bow Wow Wow's lolita singing in the surf. We got a new drug to be addicted to. Friday Night Video Fights, Headbanger's Ball, 120 Minutes, Remote Control, Spring Break, The Real World and Yo! MTV Raps shaped my younger self. I loved those shows and made certain that I watched or popped a tape in the VCR and set the timer. Just dated myself, eh.

I thought this momentous occasion would be cause for MTV to do something big like they did @ 20 years. A live concert or some sort of reunion of the original VJ's. Unfortunately, that is not to come. Instead, the geniuses @ MTV set programming greatest MTV moments on it's sister station, VH1 Classic. What does MTV have going on with the main channel this weekend? A Jersey Shore fuckfest! What in the sam hell? You blow out your history for these moronic, idiotic fuck ups? Is Jersey Show a goldmine for MTV? Absolutely, it is. However, this show is everything that our nation needs to be ashamed of. These douche bags make the world laugh at us.

MTV doesn't show videos anymore. They serve a steady diet of The Gauntlet, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom and Real Life. MTV2 shows some videos. That is when they aren't showing reruns of the Wayans Brothers or Martin. These channels are just pathetic. What once was a trailblazer is now just a shell of its former self. MTV, YOU SUCK. You were a driving force in the music world once. You killed rock, hair metal and grunge. You proceeded to put hip hop and pop poop as the only music that record companies want to distribute. MTV shame on you!

Tattoos and Whining

Due to the generosity of my buddy since sixth grade, Jason, I recently read "Tattoos & Tequila" by Vince Neil. This was his response to the best selling Motley Crue memoir "The Dirt". All I can say is this is one of the worst books I can remember reading. All he did in this book was whine. All of the bad in his life was blamed on someone or something other than him. Pretty pathetic.

I am old school (I am old, sorry) Motley Crue fan. Vince and Tommy are from our hometown and that was pretty cool growing up. Motley Crue had this something about them that pissed of parents, pissed off junior high school principals with the sight of their t-shirts and new wavers. I can remember wearing a Motley Crue shirt to school in the sixth grade and Dr. Demming, the Principal at Sunflower Junior High, just about shitting his pants at the sight of my Pomona Car Swap Meet bought, flaming Motley shirt. Ah, good times! I was not going into this book blindly.

A common thread in this book is Vince denying that he is an alcoholic. He openly admits that alcohol makes him feel normal. He has 2 DUI's, one resulting in the death of Razzle Dingley of Hanoi Rocks. That being said, there are interviews from all of Vince's ex-wive's gave their accounts of their meeting, marrying, divorcing and everything in between. The common thread there was that Vince was constantly drinking, and fucking other women. Vince openly admits that his vices are booze and pussy. When you have to have a drink or 5 to relax around people that is a sign that you may have a problem.

Another thing that is beaten to death is the strong distaste he has for his fellow band mates Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars. He is constantly saying that they are not friends but that he is just 1/4 owner in the business, so to speak. Nikki Sixx had a blurb in the book and addressed Vince's issues with the band. He said that it was unfortunate that Vince felt the way he did and then continued to sing Vince's praises. Dude is psyched to be a huge rock star and gave Vince props for help making that happen.

I noticed that so many people declined to be interviewed for this book. I can see why. This book is a turd compared to "The Dirt". I hate to compare the two, but, I did not learn anything in the book that I had not known before and after reading "Dirt".

The part of the book that was actually compelling was Vince discussing the death of his daughter Skylar. Being the father of a 3 1/2 year old son, I can never imagine losing a child. This little girl had a six pound tumor that wrapped around her insides, burst and spewed cancer throughout her body. I found myself weeping while reading the hell that little girl went through. It is amazing what children can withstand and just keep fighting. I feel for this man.

In conclusion, this book was just a big woe is me for a guy that had the world in his palm. Dude, you are one of the biggest bands in the world. That funds your chain of restaurants and ink slinging joints. You should be lucky that anyone wants to see you perform. You sing about half of the lyrics anyway! Motley needs you just as you need Motley. Admit that you have an addiction and embrace the help to stay sober.

This and That

First off, a few things that just bug me. Ladies, please wear a long shirt or sweater when you wear stretch pants, yoga pants or work out pants. Please! Really, no one wants to see your camel toe, moose knuckle or wookie wallet. Most are not interested in which were the chonies du jour.
Guys with completely shaved heads, shave off the side burns. I mean, having a shaved bald head and these untrimmed side burns is just retarded. It looks as if you have a stripper's pudendum on either side of your head.
Baseball hats. Can guys just wear ones that fit. I don't care if it is the style, but when your ears can fit inside the overly large hat with a stick straight bill......... retarded again.
Tank tops. If you are wearing a tank top that is from a clothing line that resembles a basketball jersey....ugggh. Sorry, Skin, inc. tanks are kinda douchey.
Pants that sag. I am all for pants that are roomy and comfortable, but when the waist of your pants is below your ass cheeks........just stop.
Now on to my favorite subject to rail on, other than useless "celebrities", Halls of Fame. Recently the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the 2011 induction class. They are Ed Sabol (founder of NFL Films), Deion Sanders, Richard Dent, Marshall Faulk, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter and Shannon Sharpe. I really have no beef with the class with the exception of Richard Dent. Is he a Hall of Famer, yes. However, he is not a Hall of Famer over Charles Haley. Haley has a record 5 Super Bowl Rings with the 49'ers and Cowboys. This guy was a guy that the opposing offense schemed against as an individual and not as a unit, like Dent. I just think that Haley, Cris Carter and Willie Roaf deserved to be there as well as any of the inductees.
I look at the Pro Football and Pro Baseball Halls of Fame as utterly bitter voters that just cannot seem to get over themselves. The Pro Hockey and Pro Basketball Halls of Fame get it right day in and day out. The players that belong in their hall are there. You never hear of a guy that is slighted for some BS reason. The baseball hall of fame is well renown for excluding players for really no reason at all. The football hall of fame lets in marginal guys because their regional rep puts up an encyclopedia's worth of mundane stats and can sling some stuff to get their guy in. The halls are starting to stink like the Rock and roll Hall, especially when Tom Waits and Abba are in and Rush, Kiss and Deep Purple cannot catch a break.

This and That

To start out I would like to send my deepest sympathies to the Luce Family of Utah. They laid to rest the patriarch, Robert Luce, to rest today. I was friends with his son Corey back in the day. Rob was this big, bear of a man who as nice and quiet as they come. He was always cool with me. They lost a good man. The Luce Family is one of the nicest families that I have had the pleasure to know.
A few things caught my eye today. There is a lunch truck that has been doing business by my work for many, many years. Ernie's Al Fresco is a bomb truck. He provides pretty much anything that you could want as it pertains to old school lunch trucks. I can honestly say that his food rivals that of most restaurants. He has fresh ingredients and he has a huge customer base. His customers are so appreciative of his food that his truck has put his daughter through school at both the University of Michigan (settle down Cabana) and Stanford.
He was parked at his usual spot, the south curb on Ramona between Garfield and Marengo in Pasadena. So, up drives the famous, green "Nom Nom" truck and parks direct across the street from Ernie's. The funny thing is, Ernie's was packed and no one at the Nom Nom truck. This was about 10:30 AM. I left for lunch at about 12:10 PM and the Nom Nom truck was still there and now had a swarm of people. Across the street in Ernie's usual spot was a new truck to the area, the Ice Cream Sandwich truck. The lunch truck fad is just out of control.
Boy, does Framboise taste good right before bed.
Does anyone know why Zsa Zsa Gabor is so famous for? Other than some no name movies in the 50's and a butt load of cheesy bit roles in 70's sitcoms, she has never really been in anything of note. It appears that her only connection to today's news is that she has a publicity hound of a jackass husband. Every time that I check out TMZ there is a blurb about her and her ill health or her hubby. Enough!
Speaking of nothings I really need to say this: I HATE THE KARDASHIANS! They serve absolutely no purpose and have absolutely no reason to be celebrities. Aside from taking after their jock sniffing parents they really serve no purpose. Kim has no obvious talents aside from T&A. Khloe is a near descendant of Chewbacca. She is so not attractive and has nothing to offer. Lamar Odom must be high on sugar from all those candy bars to be with that wildebeest. Kourtney is the least offensive of them all. She just seems to go along with the family but is not a fame whore. She has a natural look that she is not exploiting. I think that she is kinda hot. The mom..........what a clown. I hate people that become "celebrities" from reality TV and sex tapes thereafter.
Finally, I have been reacquainted with the awesome joys of fatherhood this week. My far better half, Amy, had serious surgery on her eyes this week. Her recuperation has been painful, slow and just hard. Stitches in the eyeballs has a way to ruin your day. As she mends I have had to be the main caretaker for her and the might munchkin, Jack. My joy has been that I have had to get him out of bed, feed him, make his lunch and get him to Pre K all this week. We have really had a great week. He has been little or no problem and has been really affectionate with his mom and I. This kid rocks my world. I am so proud to have a kid that is as awesome as him. Jeebus, I am starting to tear up just writing about him. I cannot think of anything better than he and his mom in my life. I live for them. I am one lucky sumbitch!

Hall of Fame

It's the most wonderful time of the year. If you are a sports geek like me, that is. I love that the baseball hall of fame and the football hall of fame name their annual inductees within a month of one another. The National Baseball Hall of Fame will announce their 2011 Induction Class on January 5th. I have been reading and listening to a lot people's opinions about who will get inducted.
There are 33 players on this year's ballot. I can, without hesitation, guarantee that the like of Bobby Higginson, Charles, Johnson, Kirk Reuter, Lenny Harris and Raul Mondesi, etc will be off of the ballot next year. There are a few that are tweeners like Tim Raines, Harold Baines, Dale Murphy, John Olerud, Jack Morris and Fred McGriff. And there are the tainted players like Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro who will twist in the wind for a few more years, but will eventually get in once the pissed off sports writers feel that penance has been paid to their satisfaction.
It is my opinion that Bert Blyleven, Roberto Alomar, Lee Smith and Jeff Bagwell should be elected in this vote. However, my opinion means nought. There are a few sports writers out there that have personal vendettas against players for perceived slights that the player may or may not have thrown their way over the years. This absolutely plays a part in voting in players. But, a new demon has snuck it's way in to the conversation this year. That insidious monster is the guilt by association to steroids era. That's right, well he was never named or tested positive but he had great numbers in the steroid era. That means that he should not be voted in on the first few ballots.
Who is this he, you ask? He is Jeff Bagwell. Some numb nuts named Dan Graziano wrote a column on Fanhouse.com saying that he left Bagwell off of his ballot for the hall because he is suspicious. Ok, before we go any further let's look at Graziano's background. Graziano graduated from Georgetown University. Obviously he's not uneducated. He wrote for such papers as The Palm Beach Post and the Star-Ledger in New Jersey. He has also done work for ESPN. So, he kinda has cred. But, this dude is a douche.
So, genius begins his argument that his suspicions would not hold up in a court of law but that this is not a court of law, it is the Hall of Fame vote. Huh? Sportswriter with a grudge? Maybe. But, wait there's more. He states; "the only standards that I am beholden to are my own." He says that he will note vote for any player in the Steroid Era that he suspects were dirty. He says that he will not vote for Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro or Mark McGwire. Ok, they were named in reports and by people that had intimate knowledge of their extracurricular activities. Jeff Bagwell has never been questioned by or named by anyone of any misdeeds.
Graziano goes on the write the following; "People will hate this position, and I understand that. But I offer this in my defense: we writers who covered the game during the Steroid Era are often criticized for not reporting more skeptically based on the suspicions we harbored then. And while much of that criticism is justified, I believe the fact that we and our newspapers could have been subject to legal action for such reporting works in our defense. The withholding of a Hall of Fame vote based on suspicion of illegal activity is not the same as writing a story accusing someone of illegal activity. I'm not accusing Jeff Bagwell of taking steroids or any other performance enhancing drug. I'm just saying I'm suspicious."
What the fuck? You are leaving a dude off of your ballot because he played in an era where others were juiced and you could not have questioned it because you could have been sued? Kiss my big, fuzzy, white ass. You are no better than a writer for the friggin' Enquirer. This guy needs to lose his vote for the Hall of Fame. This is totally wrong and should be looked into by those that choose who gets to vote. Shame on you Dan Graziano! Shame on you!

Cranky

Am I getting old or what? It takes me forever to piss. I look at every young person and want to yell at them to put on jeans that fit. Skinny jeans? Really? Especially the guys. It looks like shit. Facial piercings. Come on! Reserved for real punks or people that have been maming themselves for years. Your lip piercing looks like you have eaten a fish hook. The saucers in the ears. Fuck, enough already. Sorry was at the mall twice this week.
Music. What is it with the music of today? Here ajust a few of the bands that released albums this year. Kesha, Shout Out Louds, Broken Bells, MGMT, Broken Social Scene, and Vampire Weekend, just too name a few. I listen to KROQ in the morning and immediately turn the station after Kevin and Bean. The music is just unlistenable. Crappy synths and re hashed turds. Sorry emo douches your music sucks. R&B, rap and hip hop are a joke. James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Run DMC, Sugarhik Gand, NWA and the Beastie Boys should bee looking at what is there today and say, what happened to what we created. Sorry, that music is sooooooooooo played out. It sickens me that there is no good rock music in the Billboard Top 10 anymore. Read Rolling Stone and see what music is top of all the charts. I miss music.
I may be getting to the point where I ant to yell at kids to get off my lawn adn spray them with a hose, if I had a lawn. When I go into shops like Hot Topic, I fell like a lifetime has passed me by and kicked dirt on me along the way. I can remember when MTV played videos and the Video Music Awards were for videos actually played on the channel. I remeber cassette tapes and vinyl albums. I remeber walkman, having to take your film to the drugstore to have pictures developed. I remember Atari 2600, Wayne Gretzky, Joe Montana, Tony Gwynn, Magic Johnson and Al Unser Sr. Thank you reading my rant.

Am I Getting Old?

Strange stuff this week. I walked into Henry's Market this week. For those that do not know Henry's, it is a boojie market similar to Trader Joe's but lower on the food chain than Gelson's or Bristol Farms. Anyhoo, I am walking through the produce are and saw something rather frightening. I saw FRESH ingredients for holiday fruit cake. Am I so old that I can remeber fruit cake being a punchline in every sitcom and knowing that it was a gift from every old relative or quasi family member or friend that felt obliged to get your family gift. Some were even considered better if they were spiked with rum. But, in all, they were nasty, shitty and just bad. So it creeped me out that there was a display and people were actually checking it out and entertaining the thought of creating the beast. Jeeebus!
My other getting old thing is that I will be getting a hearing aid. Funny, as I right this I am grooving to Black Label Society with my old school headphones. Screw the ear buds. Anyway, my hearing has been getting worse and worse over the last 10 years. It got to the point that my 3 year old monster was getting tired of me saying "What?", he now just walks away when I ask him to repeat himself. Tlak about being bummed. Amy just rips for not listening, not true I say, well maybe. So, thanks to all of the concerts and drag racing and loud stereos without using protection, I am no oficially old. So, no I may be able to hear my dad fart a few miles away. I guess that already happens, as anyone who knows him can attest to. So, getting old sucks.

October3rd, A Day of Happiness and Sadness

October 3rd holds so many emotions for me. First, it has a great meaning to me as Amy and I were married on October 3, 2004. It is so rare that you marry someone and they become your best friend. We just celebrated our six years 5 days after Amy had surgery. I look back on that day on the beach in Maui and smile. The greatest day of my life along with the birth of our son Jackson.
Another happy memory is the anniversary of my best friend Jason Cabana and his wonderful wife, Heather. They were married 12 years ago overlooking Puddingdtone. I have known Jason since we were 11 and is like a brother to me. Congrats you guys.
Unfortunately, October 3rd also holds a very heartbreaking event for many others besides myself. On October 3, 1996, one of the most awesome people I have ever had the honor to know, Tim Crowther, passed away. The world lost a gem that day. I have blogged about Tim in the past and have espoused his genius. I cannot say enough about him. Tim was the true meaning of selflessness. He gave his time to so many in the Glendora community. He always had time for everyone. If he didn't, he would make time. He was the man that you only read stories about. He could be a hard ass but give you a hug at the same time. I know because I experienced it.
He left behind an awesome wife and two great kids. Donna is just great. She has a kick ass sense of humor and a laugh that is infectious. Dan has followed in the footsteps of his dad and became a peace officer for the City of Arcadia. He was recently promoted to Sergeant. Tim would be so proud. I haven't seen Dana since she was about 14, but through Facebook I see that she has two beautiful daughters and loves being a mom. Good for you Dana.
Tim brought so much to many lives, mine especially. It is hard to share a day of so much happiness and so much sorrow. I love my wife and my friends and miss Tim so much. That day is such a bittersweet one for me.

Arizona

I have been called a liberal by many of my family members. This was never more apparent when I decided to vote "no" on Prop 8 a few years back. Prop 8 was the California Proposition that banned same sex marriage in the state. I feel that no one has a right to tell a person who they can and cannot be unionized with. I had some folks in the family make absolutely retarded comments like"If they get to marry the same sex, next they will want to be able to marry their sibling or an animal and make beastiality legal." Are you fucking kidding me? Must be listening to too much Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck or Sarah Palin. Either way, I find myself to be tolerant of all no matter of race, religion or sexual being. However, I do not subscribe to ANY single thought system. I am not a republican, democrat, etc. I am a human that thinks and can have thoughts for myself and not tow any company line.

This being said, the State of Arizona has established Senate Bill 1070. Log story short, the State of Arizona has established a version of Federal Immigration law that now makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally. Very many people have assailed this bill as setting up Police Departments statewide for legal racial profiling. Others have called in Nazi like laws of ridding the state of Hispanic residents. Hearing all of this makes me wonder if any of these people have read the bill.

Here is an important part of the bill: E. A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, WITHOUT A WARRANT, MAY ARREST A PERSON
38 IF THE OFFICER HAS PROBABLE CAUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON HAS COMMITTED
39 ANY PUBLIC OFFENSE THAT MAKES THE PERSON REMOVABLE FROM THE UNITED STATES.
This basically means that an officer has to have probable cause to investigate a crime or potential crime. During the investigation of said crime the officer must have probable cause to inquire with the individual as to their immigration status. So, there are 2 requirements that law enforcement must meet before they can even question the person regarding their status. So, if and individual is not doing something illegal they have no worries.

Unfortunately, there are certain groups that are alleging that the state is going after the Latino communities in Arizona. I would not be naive as to think that Arizona does not have a large population of immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. I am pretty sure that this is the bulk of the immigrant population in that state, just as California. However, this applies to ALL illegal immigrants. Those from Asia, Middle East, Europe and the friggin' Canucks from the north. It just so happens that we have many visitors from the south. Don't get me started on the douche bag municipalities in California that are adopting resolutions boycotting Arizona and declaring that the state is anti Latino.

My biggest issue with this whole deal is that it has invaded my sanctuary. It has infested the sports world. FUCK! It just kills me that the sports page is now and a second area for editorials on this issue. Here are a few of the fucktard things that people are stirring up.

Ozzie Guillen, Chicago White Sox manager, had this to say:

"I’m not going. I have to support my people, people I believe in. If those people were bad people, hell no I wouldn’t support them; but they’re good people," Guillen said. "I’m very proud to be a [U.S.] citizen, but meanwhile I ask, "Wow, why did this happen?’ We didn’t do anything wrong here. We support this county and this country supports us. That’s why I’m confused about this thing.

"As a coach, no [I won’t go]. As a player it’s a different thing. If the commissioner wants to play the All-Star game in Arizona, we have to show up. As a coach, I’m not going. They don’t need me. The show’s going on without me."

"My people"? Douche nugget.

Rod Barajas:

“It’s disappointing,” Barajas said. “I have a lot of family born in Mexico. You would like to hope there is no stereotyping going on, but it’s hard to see that there would not be. If they happen to pull someone over who looks like they are of Latin descent, even if they are a U.S. citizen, that is the first question that is going to be asked. But if a blond-haired, blue-eyed Canadian gets pulled over, do you think they are going to ask for their papers? No.”

Darn white devils.

The Major League Baseball Players Association want the league to pull the 2011 MLB All Star Game to pulled from Phoenix. And that proves what? The bill will still be in place and that you guys are still overpaid and pompous asses with the strongest employee union in the world. OK.

Then locals feel that the Lakers should, as an organization, should produce a show of solidarity for the large LA Latino population by showing opposition to the bill. Phil Jackson was skewered by showing indifference and asking a simple question about the state just adopting a federal law as a state law.

Everyone should have their opinion and be proud of it. I just ask that they actually do their homework and leave my fucking sports alone.

Someone Finally Has a Fucking Brain

In a recent blog, I unloaded on Gloria Allred and Jasmine Jaymes and their idiotic idea that Tiger Woods owed them some sort of apology. Today I was listening to my favorite sports talk show, PMS and they did something that I could not believe. As you may, or may not know, PMS is a sports talk show on local AM 570. The show is hosted by Matt "Money" Smith of "Kevin & Bean" fame and Petros Papadakis, former Southern Cal football player. They are immature and sophomoric and I absolutely enjoy it. Anyway, they were set to interview Jaymes on tomorrows show. Petros decided to really think about how the show would evolve and came to the conclusion that this would be an interview that would have given her more airtime than she really needed and it would be dictated by Allred, as well. To them it was just a bad idea all together.
I applaud you Petros. This woman needs to go somewhere and just wither away. You do not deserve the press that you are getting. You fucked a married athlete/celebrity. You were jilted and then published text messages that were private between you two. You have no class and your attorney has no class, either. Allred states that she stands up for women's rights. No, you stand up so that your withered ass can be on TV. PMS was right to boot them to Steve Hartman's show. He will kiss her ass and make her feel good and then destroy her after the interview.
PMS, please listen to another piece of advice. Please keep David Vasseigh off of the air. He is not entertaining or even close to and "on air" personality. Dude is a douche. He is a good producer and did a great job of getting all of Joe McDonnell's contacts. But, he is horrible on Bruin Talk and even worse when you guys go on vacation. Eradicate his voice from the LA airwaves!

I Went Down the Road of Cheese

I did not want to even approach the whole Tiger Woods subject, but, fuck it. I keep hearing Gloria Allred, attorney, fame whore and just plain retarded person keep harping on the fact that Tiger Woods owed her client an apology. Joslyn James, her porn star name, says that she quit doing porn for Tiger. She claims that she was twice impregnated by him and lost both pregnancies. She says that she chose not to tell him about either pregnancy. Each pregnancy coincided with the pregnancies of his wife. Convenient! Her own family has come forth and said that she had numerous other partners and is a compulsive liar. On top that she is wanted in Washington State for not paying child support. I say this.........FUCK YOU! I do not condone the action of the guy. However, you knew that he was married and had kids. You are just as guilty as he is in the affair. So, for you to go get the high priced ambulance chaser Gloria Allred to stump for you getting an apology is just plain retarded. You are not a some exploited woman. You are complicit in this and you should be offering up an apology to Elin for screwing her husband.
The second rant is on so called celebrities. I was flipping through the DVR a few nights back and saw that Nicole Richie was on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The show description had her listed as a "TV personality". WHAT? She was on a piece of shit reality show because she was friends with another "celebrity" Paris Hilton. Let me say this the following are not celebrities, they are fucking morons that have no reason being on TV or in mags: The ENTIRE Kardashian Family, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Brody Jenner, any other person that was on the Hills or Laguna Beach. Just fucking dry up and go away.
The LA Times just really fucked up by putting a story of Tila Tequila on the front page of the Calendar section of this past Sunday's paper. Really? Her? The article was a big steaming pile. She has no talent. She was a Playboy model. That's it. She has bled the media dry. She is worthless. Go away and do not come back. Sham on you LA Times. Jesus with these fucktards already!

The Baseball Hall of Fame Screws the Pooch and other genius ideas

The National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Andre Dawson was the lone inductee in Class of 2010. They went on to decide that he was to be inducted as a Montreal Expo. Why do I have a problem with that? Because, he was not given a choice of which cap to be displayed on his plaque. In 2005, Wade Boggs was voted into the Hall with 91% of the vote. 75% is needed for induction. Wade's best years were in Boston and with the Yankees. He finished up with 2 lackluster years with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (as they were then known as). He had a combined 200 hits in his time with Tampa and got his 3000th hit with them. Now, upon his election to the Hall, Boggs was going to be inducted as a Devil Ray because they were going to pay him a large sum of money to do so. This same issue came up when the Padres paid Dave Winfield a huge amount of cash and a high level administrative position in exchange for going in as a Padre. I get the fact that the Hall doesn't want a pay for play deal here, but, JEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSUSSSSSSSS CHRIST!
Andre Dawson was the first player to win an MVP for a last place team, the Cubs. He brought life to a moribund club in 1987. He should have had more say to go in as a Cub, as he alluded to in interviews. I am absolutely happy that he is being inducted. He is one of 3 players to have 400 homers and 400 steals over the course of a career. Willie Mays and Barry Bonds are the others. I say Good deal Andre.
Now, the genius sportswriters fucked up again. Bert Blylevyn was 5 votes short of induction. He finished his career with 287 wins and 3701 strikeouts. He has more wins of any other Hall eligible pitcher and ranks 27th on the all time wins list and 5th on the strikeouts list. The knock is he is 10th on the losses list and had an ERA of 3.31. Not great for his era, but Phil Niekro and Don Sutton had more losses and higher ERA's and less strikeouts and made it to the Hall because they won 300 games. Douchebag writers.
The writers also left Roberto Alomar out of the Hall. He missed by eight votes. Here's what he accomplished: 17 seasons, Rookie of the Year in '88, 12 straight All Star Game appearances, top 5 in MVP voting 5 times, 10 Gold Gloves, 2700 hits, and a career .300 hitter. Several writers left their ballots blank because they felt that Alomar disgraced the game by spitting is John Hirschbeck's face in '96. The writers failed to realize that Hirshbeck called Alomar a "maricon". For those that are not bi lingual, maricon is basically equivalent to calling someone a "faggot" in english. However, in most Latin cultures this is a term that will get your ass kicked for calling someone that. Writers have long punished players for things that have nothing to do with their on the field credentials and are a bunch of bitter, jock sniffing elitists. I believe that the Hall change the voting formula to include Hall of Famers in the voting and not just for the Veterans Committee. Pro Wrestling was a huge part of my life as a youngster. Steve was one of my all time favorites. He was a fucking beast. He was a 4 time All American wrestler at Oklahoma and an All American football player for Barry Switzer, as well. Steve was teamed with the late Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy in Japan. They were the most vicious and destructive team, outside of the Road Warriors, that Japan had ever seen. They were portrayed as vicious enemies here in the states. RIP Steve.

LA Radio

I listen to a bit radio. The radio got too boring and too many commercials. The same songs were being played over and over. So, I decide to get XM. Loved it. Then, you get the same songs over and over and a ton of commercials, as well. So, XM is gone and I am back to regular radio. I have come to realize a few things. Growing up in Southern California I have been privileged to have been subjected to many great radio stations. I have seen KMET (rock), KNAC (Hard Rock), KLSX(once classic rock/talk) and too many sports talk stations come and go. KLOS and KROQ have been a staple on my pre set for close to 30 years. I am a sports talk AM junkie.
I have been witness to the greatest DJ's here in LA. Jim Ladd, Jed the Fish, Rodney Bingenheimer, JJ Jackson, Rita Wilde, Kevin and Bean, The Real Don Steele, Charlie Tuna to name a few. The sports announcers are a king's court. In LA we have had the pleasure of welcoming Vin Scully, Chick Hearn, Bob Miller, Dick Enberg, Ralph Lawler, Chris Roberts and Charlie Steiner into our lives to bring us the best play by play of their respective sports. The talking heads that bring the sports talk have been many an varied. They include Jim Rome, Steve Hartman, Chet Forte, Lee Hamilton, Joe McDonnell, Doug Krikorian, Jim Healy, Matt Smith and Petros Papadakis. These guys have brought news, laughs and tears to the many they entertain. With that being said I heard only what I can describe as an absolute abortion on the airwaves yesterday.
Driving home from work, I tuned in to KLAC 570 AM. Looking for a best of for Petros & Money, I instead got Bruin Talk, as the Bruins played an early New Years Eve basketball affair against the Sun Devils. Well, the call in show is hosted by David Vasseigh, who is a producer of the Petros & Money Show and got his start on the Joe McDonnell/Doug Krikorian Show on ESPN Radio a few years back. For some unknown reason, they let him on the air periodically and he just ruins the show every time. Vasseigh has a wooden delivery that will bore you to sleep. He tries to be funny. His bad humor is only rivaled by the reviled Sam the Armenia Comedian of the Kevin & Bean Show on KROQ. David cannot find any fluidity when giving an opinion and just sounds like he really tries way too hard to be witty. He is just plain bad. He is far better as a behind the scenes guy. Now I know why I never listened to the Bruin Post Game Show for football. Vasseigh, you suck! Stay off of the waves.

Rock N Roll Hall of Shame

I am a huge fan of Hall of Fame for most anything. Football, baseball, rock & roll, you name it. The 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame made huge strides by inducting Metallica and in 2006 Black Sabbath. 2010 was looking good when KISS was on the ballot. For all of the retarded things Gene Simmons does, KISS is still the band that has more Gold Albums than any other American rock & roll band. They were nominated even though a board member said that they would never be on the ballot as long as he was alive. It was announced earlier this wee that ABBA, The Hollies, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff and Iggy and the Stooges were nominated. Wha.....NO KISS? That is bullshit! The hall continues to turn a blind eye to music that was very influential for 30 years now, hard rock. Just a little info on the nominating committee for the hall, 9 of the 32 voters are current or former contributors of Rolling Stone Magazine. Shocker......
Speaking of RS, they are another of my targets in this edition. I received the "Decade" edition. They rated the 50 top albums of the 2000's. Radiohead with "Kid A" was the top. BULLSHIT! Radiohead has got to be one of the worst peddlers of shit that is passed off as music. They are a droning bunch of pussies. Fuck you Rolling Stone. Bob Dylan, who I cannot figure out is revered as a saint in music, has 2 albums in the top 15. All of the U2 and Springsteen albums released in the decade were in the 50. Only one "hard rock" band had an album is the 50, that was System of a Down "Toxicity". Abomination.
My son Jackson kicks ass! He is just the best little guy in the world. He makes me feel like I have actually done 1 thing right in my time on the earth. He is beautiful, smart and as lovable as I could have hoped. Dad loves ya, buddy!

The Decade in Music

I am going to post a weak and cheesy Top 25 list. These are my top 25 albums of the decade. My criteria for the list is very simple; no re issues, greatest hits, live albums or compilations. Also, I have either bought the album or listened to a majority of the album. There is no number one just a basic list. Oh, and just because U2 or Springsteen issue an album, it does not make it good. However, Rolling Stone Magazine may disagree.

Eric Clapton & BB King- Riding With the King" (2000)
Everclear- "Songs From An American Movie- Vol 1" (2000)
Jack Johnson- "Brushfire Fairytales" (2001)
White Stripes- "White Blood Cells (2001)
Rob Zombie- "Sinister Urge"
Jerry Cantrell- "Degradation Trip" (2002)
Bruce Springsteen- "The Rising" (2002)
Johnny Cash- "American IV- The Man Comes Around" (2002)
White Stripes- "Elephants" (2003)
Jack Johnson- "On and On" (2003)
Jet- "Get Born"- 2003
Velvet Revolver- "Contraband"- 2004
Social Distortion- "Sex, Love & Rock n Roll"- 2004
White Stripes- "Get Behind Me Satan"- 2005
Jack Johnson- "In Between Dreams"- 2005
Rob Zombie- "Educated Horses"- 2006
Buckcherry-"15"- 2006
John Fogarty- "Revival"- 2007
Motley Crue- "Sailnts of Los Angeles"- 2008
Metallica- "Death Magnetic"- 2008
AC DC- "Black Ice"- 2008
Motorhead- "Motorizer"- 2008
Chickenfoot- "Chickenfoot"- 2009
Pearl Jam- "Backspacer"- 2009
Alice in Chains- "Black Gives Way to Blue"- 2009

Metallica in LA

I went to the Metallica show last night at the Honda Center in Anaheim. I bought the ticket in February and had waited all this time. I got off work and ate dinner with Amy & Jack and just felt blah. I told Amy that I really didn't want to go but she talked me into it. Thanks, honey! This concert kicked some major booty.
Since the age of 12, I have been to over 100 concerts. Out of those concerts I have never witnessed Metallica. This show was probably in the top 3 of any show that I have been to. The stage was set up better than any show set up. The stage is in the middle of the arena, wide open with 4 mikes on opposite sides of the stage. The drum riser was set in a way that it was rotated to face all portions of the crowd as the show moved along. Everyone could see what was happening and the place was sold out without having empty seat to the side or back of a traditional stage set up.
The show opens and they just ripped through a few new cuts off of the Death Magnetic album. From there the group was totally interactive with the crowd and not so robotic. They were having fun at what they do. The pyro was awesome. They played for 2 1/2 hours at full speed and just killed. They played the greats; "Battery", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Trapped Under Ice", "Sad But True", "Cyanide", "Enter Sandman", "Nothing Else Matters" and on and on. This show had the loudest fan participation that I can ever remember. The crowd was deafening. What a show.

Memories

If you've read my precious entries, you have found me to be really cynical and overly sarcastic. I take a step back today to remember a great man. Today I came home for lunch and logged on to my Facebook page. There was an entry from Donna Crowther. The entry was titled "Christmas Tree Lot with Tim 1994". The tag line was as follows: This may not be meaningful to everyone else, but it is classic Tim at Christmas....Enjoy the memories everyone!" I clicked on it and it was a video of the Crowther Family at Christmas time. I sat and wept at the sight of Tim before me again. As I sat with Amy and Jackson at dinner tonight I was telling Amy about the video and the pictures that his daughter in law posted and I broke down, just as I am doing as I write this. Why you ask?
Tim passed away in 1996. That has stuck with me every day since. You see, Tim Crowther was one the best men I have ever had the pleasure to be friends with. Tim was a contemporary of my dad's, he was a Peace Officer for the City of Glendora. He was also a champion of the Glendora community. Tim only knew of me through my dad and the first day that I met Tim he took a liking to me, I have no clue why. I can remember that day when he came up behind me and said that I had grease on my neck. My dad had a side business of selling used car parts. Tim proceeds to tell me it must run in our veins. Tim had a way with words.
From that moment on, Tim always made me feel as if he was watching over me. I played basketball for the man, baseball and he was instrumental in me looking at a career in law enforcement at one time. His family and his community were his life. When Glendora Police Officer Louis Pompeii was killed and his murderers were on trial, Time was there for every court appearance, I believe. Why, because he cared for Louie. He would have done that for most anyone that was in his heart.
Tim always had a warm smile and a kind word. Unless you pissed him off. I only witnessed his temper once. During a little league game at San Dimas High School, the umpire was baiting Tim. He took the bait and he erupted. It took 2 or 3 people to separate him from that ump. He was remorseful of that day because he told that showed a lack of character. I said it showed he was human. He just flashed that smile and told me to never do what he did. A few years later, I was playing high school football at Charter Oak High School. I was rarely on the field, however this night I got some unusually high minutes on the field. I recognized one of the referees as the umpire that Tim had the infamous disagreement with. As a play developed, I had a vision, a vision that entailed me putting my helmet in this guys back and exacting a little revenge. So, I had a 10 yard start and put a lick on this guy as hard as I would have had he been in pads. He went ass over tea kettle about 5 yards out of bounds. I then got up and said, earmuffs for those with an aversion to profanity, "That was for Tim Crowther, you low life motherfucker". His eyes were crossed and he was a little out of it. I don't remember ever telling Tim about that, but I'm sure he would not have been pleased.
In conclusion, seeing this video brought back many great memories of Tim. I had an opportunity to see Donna this week and that voice just brought be back to being a 12 year old kid at the ball park again. It also was hard as I have the utmost respect and love for Tim. I can never, ever imagine the pain and sorrow his family feels. They are great people. Donna, Dan and Dana, I feel that I am a better person for knowing him and I am sure that you are, too......in spades. I look at my son Jackson and feel a little cheated that he is not able to get a little of that magic dust that I got as a kid.

Rolling Stone Magazine

Growing up, I read anything I could my hands on, newspapers, books, cereal boxes and magazines. I have had an affinity for magazines for years. I have had subscriptions to so many magazines, such as Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Playboy (yes, I read the articles), Sports Illustrated, Hit Parader, Creem (music), Circus and Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone was the adult magazine. It had the music and politics that made me feel somewhat smart after reading about guys in made up feuds beating the ever loving shit out of each other.
A while back, I was listening to my favorite radio program, PMS. This is a Fox Sports Radio Show with former USC Trojan running back (poor guy) Petros Papadakis and Matt "Money" Smith. Money was once the "Sports Guy" on KROQ for the Kevin and Bean Show, taking over for some putz named Jimmy Kimmel. Matt was an executive in the music industry prior to K&B. Anyway, he was relating a story of how he was infatuated with Rolling Stone. He loved the magazine until one day he got the latest issue in the mail. Who was on the cover? Actress (hard for me to label her as such) sometime comedienne and Jim Carey's punch-board, Jenny McCarthy. The cover story was a fluff piece. After finishing the read, Matt immediately called RS and canceled his subscription because he felt that the magazine had lost it's way.
I have been a subscriber for about 5 years now. I have now seen the light that Matt once saw. Here are a few nuggets that have made me question my need for the magazine. Since 2007 the following have graced the cover of this once iconic magazine: Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Brittney Spears (twice), The Hills (!), Jonas Bros (twice), Gossip Girl (!!), Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert. FOB and PATD are emo crap that I hope has died. Brittney Spears puts out awful dance music that gay clubs in West Hollywood won't even play. Bitch needs to quit lip synching her shows that parents spend $90.00 to take their daughters to. The Hills.......WHAT IN THE FUCK! Gossip Girl......>WHAT IN THE FUCK! Jonas Bros. Does anyone over the age of 14 listen to them? I cannot even begin to think that these cheesedicks will be around without a Disney contract in 5 years. Taylor Swift appears to have mesmerized the MTV crowd with here ah shucks candy coated crud. Lady Gaga. More like Lady Caca. Poker face? Looks like some tried to put a fire out on her face with a fire place poker. And Adam Lambert. How in the fuck do you get a cover for not doing anything but losing to some plain vanilla fucker on American Idol? So what he is gay. Whoopdy fartin doo. He still hasn't done shit in music. That song for 2012, pure shit in the legendary words of Gordon Ramsay.
They put Obama on the cover 5 times in 2 years and it wasn't to mock him like they did the Bush. They really lost me recently. Madonna was on the cover. Basically, the article was a ball washer for her. they kissed her ass for being another "legend" that hasn't done anything in 15 years worth a turd. They finally put Metal God Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead in the rag with a pretty lengthy story. Too bad the story was a rehashing of his autobiography "White Line Fever". The author constantly referred to that book during the article. I was psyched to see him paid some mention but the story just blew monkeys. Boooooooooooooooooooo!
My last bitch is the music reviews. I do not believe that I have seen any album, no matter how horrible, get less than 2 stars out of 5. David Fricke, a well respected journalist does most of the big reviews. I swear that U2 and Springsteen have never made a bad album in their career. This guy ball washes them incessantly. If Bono put out a recording of himself prepping for a colonoscopy (imagine the sounds) Fricke would lend it some sort of artistic credence. If a disk sucks, just come out and say it. FUCK! Come renewal time, I may have to pass. I just cannot handle any more shitty young actors and "artists" that just have no business of getting blown up for having done nothing to deserve it.

Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Concert

I am a sucker for anything Hall of Fame related. Pro Football, Baseball and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies...count me in. I am a Hall of Fame whore! I cried during Jim Kelley's induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he spoke about his special needs son. I wasn't even a dad yet and I cried like a bitch.
Recently, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame held two nights of concerts at Madison Square Garden commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Hall. Mind you, Rolling Stone Magazine is the keeper of the Hall. However, Ahmet Ertegun was a founder with RS Editor in Chief, Jann Wenner. I respect Mr. Ertegun as the man that sign Led Zeppelin and Cream along with Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles to his Atlantic Records label. Dude was a genius.
The concert covered two nights and displayed an ass load of great music. A few highlights for me were Simon and Garfunkle showing how important they were to the NYC scene in the 60's. No heavier song written than "Sounds of Silence". I never realized how influential they were until the past few years. Paul Simon paid tribute to George Harrison by covering "Here Comes The Sun", my favorite Beatles song, by far. He played the guitar so perfectly, unfortunately, the song was cheapened by having David Crosby and Graham Nash sing with him. They were as brutal in this song as they were in their set.
Stevie Wonder was probably more powerful than he had been in 25 years. He paid tribute to Michael Jackson by covering "The Way You Make Me Feel". Not a big fan of the Jackson music, but to see Stevie breakdown and weep in the middle of the song showed that he was still mourning. I can respect that. He also played with BB King and Smokey Robinson. Cool.
Metallica then hit it on the fucking head. "For Whom The Bell Tolls" started it off. Then they play with Lou Reed. They played with Ozzy who did his worn out thing. The best was they played with Ray Davies of the Kinks. Wholly Shit! Two of my favorites together.
Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy...a guitar fans wet dream. Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top...the wet spot. Guitars are a voice that speaks only love and the truth.
Springsteen with Sam Moore of Sam and Dave was classic. Any guy (Springsteen) that has Mike Ness play with him in LA is OK with me. Then, he jams into "Fortunate Son" with John Fogarty. Just awesome.
I am a classic rock junkie. If it was not for the 50's and 60's rock n roll, this world would be a miserable place. Thank you rock n roll.

Dumbasses

Watching the morons that were celebrating the Lakers Championship made me think of one thing. What a bunch of stupid motherfuckers. Why burn your own neighborhood when the Lakers win? You scumbag douche bags have no clue. Sit at home like the rest of the Laker fans, that can't afford to go to Staples or Orlando, have a beer and celebrate like normal hums. Fucksticks.
Sammy Sosa named for positive performance enhancing drugs in '03. Duh! Jesus Christ on a crutch, folks. Sammy was a whopping 165 lbs at age 21. By age 40, he was 235 lbs. He cites that nutrition was responsible for weight gain. The dud was not fat. He was cut. This is the guy that just forgot how to speak English on Capitol Hill during the Steroid Hearings a few years back just as Mark McGwire did not want to speak about the past. Any fan could see that Sosa, McGwire, Giambi, Brady Anderson, Caminiti, Canseco, Belle and many others were not normally huge, that there was something amiss. Yes, new ballparks got smaller, but middle infielders got bigger and outfielders got huge. Just saying.........Dumb asses! Grow up and do it the natural way.
On an ending note, Happy Father's Day to all who are fathers. To you who aren't..........drink a beer for me. To all that have pops away from home duty to military service we send you all well wishes and thanks. To those whose fathers are no longer with us, especially Larry Chamberlain, our thoughts are with those. Larry is the father of a former friend of mine. Larry was a different cat. He was a hard ass. He looked at you and sneered. That is until you became an adult then he grunted too. Larry was cool and loved his wife more than anyone I think I have ever seen. Jan was his everything and that was where his soft spot was. He cared for his kids. Tami, I can never feel your pain, but stick in there.
Another who passed a few years back, Tim Crowther, was a huge influence on me. Tim was the biggest mentor to me aside from my dad. Tim was a baseball, softball, basketball and golf coach in the north end of Glendora. He was a Glendora Police Officer who was the opposite of those around him. He was kind, gentle and not a prick like so many other Glendora cops. I am a son of a former Irwindale cop who respects the job immensely. Tim was the type of guy that volunteered even when his kids weren't involved. Tim taught me one awesome thing; take all of the good and bad from a situation and put it in the back of your mind and use the good when faced with a similar situation and do not utilize the bad ever. He was the best. Hang in there Donna, Dan and Dana.
May you all be well. If you have a job be thankful. A contemporary of mine gave me a little mantra: "Stay away from the shopping cart". Meaning- hopefully we do not lose our jobs over the court's whirlwind budget crisis in the next 4 years.

Is Rock n Roll Dead?

Recently, I pondered the question, "Is Rock n Roll Dead?" The music of today sucks. Pure and simple. Just crap. I was luck enough to grow up in a house of decent music. I heard Ricky Nelson, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Lynard Skynard, Hank Williams, Jr, Jeff Beck amongst others. I got into the metal movement of the 80's. Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Poison, etc. I have taken quite a lot of shit for that over time.
As a I grew older I expanded my horizons. I began to respect the Ramone's, Social Distortion, Sex Pistols, Motorhead and Iron Maiden. I also began to really look at other music such as The MAvericks, Chris Isaak, Jack Johnson and Dwight Yoakam. So, I have a pretty open mind to music except rap and hip hop, other than Run DMC, Beastie Boys and NWA, whcih I happen to think is the most organic and best of that genre.
I was at a concert a year or so back and in bewtween acts there was pre recorded music playing while the stage was being set up. Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n Roses began playing. The first sniff of Slash's intro brought everyone to their feet. You saw 3/4 of the Gibson rise to their feet and just get crazy. I thought to myself then that music has so changed. After that song, AC DC Highway to Hell began. The WHOLE fucking place erupted. The whole arena was head banging and sang the song from start to finish. It was then that I realized rock n roll is the devil that corrupts us. I mean that in a good way.
I listen to the radio and the only thiong good is the old stuff. I was listening to KLOS last week and Van Halen You Really Got Me, even though a Kinks cover, came screaming out of the speakers and I felt like I did as a teenager. That opening guitar barrage just took my breath away. I then realized that no new music does this anymore. The only really killer music in the last few years has been the Metallica Death MAgnetic album, whic is by far the heaviest Metallica album in many years.
The last Motley Crue album was decent, Metallica was scary heavy and that is about it. I miss waiting outside of Tower Hollywood- RIP for the next huge rock album to drop. I would not even wait in line at Wal Mart for anything new. Rock n Roll is on life support. AC DC, Metallica, Motley Crue, Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles are selling out concerts left and right but we need new blood to keep it breathing.
I am sorry, Coldplay, the Killers, My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy and Avenge Sevenfold are not long ter heirs to the throne. They are not going to be U2 or Springsteen like in 20 years. They are going to be wash outs. Coldplay ripped of Satriani note for note for bajeeber's sake! The fucking Jonas Brothers played with Stevie Wonder at the Grammies. Fuck that! That is sacrilige. Steve Wonder and the Jonas Douches! SHIT!
I say that Rock n Roll is on it's last legs. Fucking Soulja Boy, TI, Lil' Wayne, Beyonce and MIA are what is ruling right now. We need the Peppers and Rage to come in with new albums to cure the disease that is upon us. Is rock n roll dead? Not yeat, but it is on a ventilator in ICU.

Duh!

The news came out this weekend that Alex Rodriguez was 1 of 104 Major League Baseball Players to test positive for steroids in 2003. My response was, DUH! His stats were awesome. He was one of those players whose stats mellowed as the testing commenced. I have long had a love/hate relationship with baseball. I love to watch it, but hate the business side of it.
The owners are whining, big pocketed misers that complain about salaries, but are the one's paying them and creating the market. The players, shall I say, the agents are whining about the value of their clients. Look, you get paid to PLAY baseball. If you are making 3 million bucks to play a kids game, quit you bitchin'. Jesus! Be lucky you have a job that pays you as much as it does. How dare you complain about your salary when you make more than teachers, police officer, fire fighters and road workers. Those people are necessary to make our society a better place. Unlike you, who are taking illegal drugs and acting like a fool.
I hear all these morons that say that steroids were not against the drug testing policy so there should not be any stigma. BS! The drugs are against the law. All major sporting factions, ie: MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MMA, etc claim that testing was installed by public pressures. What? You have employees that are doing things that are against the law. Steroids, EPO, pot, cocaine and heroin are all against the law to possess and use. Get over yourselves! If you are doing somthing illegal it still wrong no matter what you, your agent or union say. We regular folk are going to get nailed. So should they.

No title

I just want to start off by saying that my wife is awesome and my son rocks. My wife is a terrific mom and my son just keeps me laughing by his insane energy and his maniacal laugh. It makes me feel lucky to have what I have.
Well, the New York Yankees are once again proving that they are the Evil Empire. They signed CC Sabathia to an outrageous contract. Word is that they are now setting their sights on Manny Ramirez and Derek Lowe. They have proven in the last 8 years that you can never buy chemistry and clutch ball playing.
It also looks as if the Boston Red Sox are on the verge of landing Mark Texeira. The Angels better pony up the cash for him. Their offense shined with him in the line up. Tex is a far better option than Manny at this point of their respective careers.
It appears that the Grammy folks are just as moronic as I ever thought they were. I mean, James Taylor getting nominated for covering an awful Glen Campbell tune "Wichita Lineman". Another pearl is John Mayer getting a bazillion noms. The guy is the Grammy go to guy because he is very active in their charitable endeavors. He is a pretty good guitar player, but his music blows blind lab monkeys. When he sings he sounds as if he is in the john blowin' it out.
Mariah Carey another Grammy ball washer, was thrown a bone by being given a nom for best gospel performance on a compilation album. The Disney movie "Enchanted" had 2 songs nominated for the best movie song. However, the album was not nominated and the album was released in 2007. Way to go Grammy's! Screwin' it up again in 08.
The good deals are that Metallica, Motley Crue and George Carlin are nominated. I hope that Coldplay really gets exposed for stealing Joe Satriani's guitar lick, note for note, and get shut out of the Grammy's.
Damned Bruins.

Welcome

Welcome to my first post. I have never had my own blog before. So, here it goes. Watched the OJ Simpson sentencing from Vegas this morning. All I can say is.........DUMBASS! Here is a guy that still thinks that he get by because he is The Juice. I just loved when the Judge said that everything from A-Z was taped and that he still said that he had no intention of being violent. Paybacks are, well.......
I will blog about all things my child. He is awesome. He is 14 months old and just is awesome. He is trying to talk, without success, but he is the happiest little guy that I have ever seen. When he wakes up in the morning or from a nap he is the happiest. My wife and I are not even close to that and wonder where he gets it. Crazy.
Well, the Baseball Winter Meeting begin Monday in Vegas. Let's see how long it takes for Texeira and Sabathia to stiff the Angels. I am so tired of hearing how Obama's new economic plan will ruin athlets. Remember, he cannot impose such a plan without those in Congress and the Senate. Agents, for being attorneys, are MORONS!!!!!
In closing, a sad day in NASCAR. The Petty's have merged with Gillette Racing. This means that the oldest and most traditional independent racing entity has given in the corporate mess that is NASCAR. Richard and Kyle Petty have always been class acts and wanted to win with dignity and fairness. Thank you guys for being the good guys in a black hat sport.

GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
